S.P.I.R.I.T. meets chocolate!

Now that I have your interest!!!  HELLO!

I wanted to take this time in the blog to tell you about our adventure at a chocolate cafe in Savannah.  Our Team went to this investigation totally not intending to eat chocolate...yeah right?  We had to know what we were up against didn't we?

We did an initial walk through of the site and sampled the product.  YUM!  Then we setup a time for us to return to do our investigation.  Some of the claims they had were utensils moving (knives), seeing apparitions and hearing noises.  We explained that we don't mind if someone from the cafe wanted to join in on the investigation, we actually prefer it.

When we arrived later that night we were pleasantly surprised to see at least six people from the cafe or their friends had joined us for the investigation.  We asked the newcomers if they had participated in an investigation before and most said no.  We did however, have a young boy with his grandfather attend the investigation.  They had no relation to anyone at the cafe, they had just heard about the investigation and wanted to join us. They told us about how they travel around to quite a few locations and did investigations on their own.

The next question we asked:  Have they ever watched a "ghost hunt" show on TV and everyone raised their hands.  Did we expect anything different?  No, heck we watch them too!

First thing we had to do is explain what they don't show on those TV shows.  HOURS of nothing happening, after all, if there are spirits there, they don't jump on command.  Next discussed the pieces of equipment we placed out.  We wanted to explain what the equipment was and what it was used for.  We hoped this would help if they understood the equipment.

And so the investigation began.  We started right off by doing a base line reading of the area.  One of the things we noticed is the back area where they had felt uneasy and seen apparitions, was giving off high EMFs.  When I say high I mean HIGH.  Upon further investigation we determined that it was coming from all the appliances in the back rooms  It was on both sides of the path the employees were having to travel every day working at the cafe and the owner had to go through to get to his office.  As most of you I'm sure know, these can make people see things that aren't there, can make people feel uneasy, sick and even fearful.  Part of our process is to inform owners when we find these kind of things as it can be a risk to them or anyone that works in that area.  We advised him to follow up with an electrician to see what could be done.

One of the reports was the unexplained movement of knives.  So of course we had to stage some knives in various places.  We also placed recorders near them to see if we captured anything unusual. We detected no movement during this investigation.  Next we broke up into Teams.  One group worked with visitors to do EVP sessions in the front of the cafe, while the other Team investigated the back rooms.

We had some exciting experiences and some that just made us laugh...lets start with the latter.  The investigators that were doing the behind the scenes investigations started by doing EVP sessions in the "fear cage" area.  They spent a good 15 mins or so then decided to pull out the ovilus.  They started getting some words coming through, but nothing they could relate to, so they documented it and kept moving forward.  Just when things seemed to be really quiet the ovilus yelled the word SURPRISE!  and then said run.  If you have ever listened to the ovilus you will know it doesn't normally have an inflection to the words it says.  However, the investigators SWORE it did.  We did some research on the web and there was nothing said about this being possible.  You should have seen their faces!!!  We later came to find out it can and does say SURPRISE really excited like.  Well I can tell you if it was a spirit picking thse word and the timing..it really worked...having surprise and run said to them made them want to leave the area.    However, they also identified that the ovilus we were using had an issue, if you ran your hand across the back of it you could make it generate words with each pass of your hand.  Rendered useless until fixed..except for laughs.

Now for the EVP session with the visitors.  We started the session doing a straight EVP session, but since it appeared to be a quite nite for us we turned on the SB7.  If your not sure what that is, it is a piece of equipment that sweeps radio frequencies.  The thought is that spirits can pull words from the transmissions and use them to communicate.  I've personally not been a big believer of this, but I was proven skeptical on this investigation.  What began as a some what quite session soon took a change for the better.  One of our investigators asked what is your name?  Through the SB7 we heard "Gretchen".  This is the name of the investigators mother who had passed.  She was rightfully startled and asked mom is that  you?  Then another word came out YES!.  Then it got quiet.  But as she stated she was ending the session...it sounds like the same voice saying...I love you!.  Take a listen to it!  It's posted on our Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/1766620300074703/permalink/2159825637420832/

Like we have always said..you never know what you're going to encounter when you're on an investigation, sometimes they hit a little more close to home, even when your far away.

We have lots of findings posted on our Facebook page and you can check out our instagram page:  Southernparanormalteam.  The page will say S.P.I.R.I.T. Paranormal.

The S.P.I.R.I.T Team Goes to the Theater

Hello!

This is the second blog and we want to take this one to share with you a past adventure.  We travelled to a Theater in Savannah Georgia.  It's the longest running Theater in Georgia.

During the initial walk through of the Theater, it gave off an unusual feel.  You know like it was still in full production mode, although when we were there everything as far as the production was quiet.

As we did our walk through one thing we noted, was that while in the balcony taking baseline pictures there appeared to be a haze or smoke hanging above the audience.  Not real visible to the naked eye, but it did show up in pictures.  Also, when walking on and around the stage, stage left felt very unwelcoming...was there something or someone there?

We began our investigation by setting up all the equipment you can imagine...we have a lot..so we put them every where we thought there might be some activity.  From motion sensors, to K2s to static electricity detectors to EMF detectors.  We also setup night vision cameras in the balcony, on the stage and back stage in the dressing rooms.  Then we went lights out.

Right away we had some action as one of our investigators felt touched on the arm as she walked down the row of seats closer to the stage. When we checked the cameras it showed nothing.  Were we too close to someone in their seat?

Then the K2 meter we had setup on the stairs on the right of the stage started going off repeatedly.  As we had done a base line sweep prior to beginning our investigation we could not attribute it to anything man made.  It would stop and then 10 minutes or so later it would start up again.  We did EVP sessions when it would lite up hoping someone would talk to us. We are still reviewing some of them, hopefully they will tell us what they wanted us to know.  Was it a past member of the theater company?

We tried multiple other EVP sessions and took tons of pictures.  As you probably know it doesn't happen like it does on TV.  Sometimes...you don't get much if anything.  After all, if these are people that are no longer with us, they are not there to perform for us or for anyone.  And often they don't.  One of the things I would love to understand is why often EVPs are one word maybe two?  But not often a full sentence...do you wonder why that is?

We mentioned stage left above..we chose this place as our one of our sit down sessions for EVPs.  One of our lead investigators sat with a representative from the Theater and began asking questions out loud.  Some hits on the meters was captured.  But after awhile their conversation turned to past ghost investigations.  We have often found we get more answers or EVPs when we are not ASKING questions.  But just by being in their space they want to reach out to us.  But here is where we had a little bit of fun.

Our investigator always starts her EVP sessions off with "Hello?".  It's sort of become a running joke because...well.. you know the famous song..  So we downloaded that song onto our phone and we were hiding off stage in the dark.  When she said it we played really loud the recording...They were STARTLED!  They thought they were getting a response...It was all we could do not to laugh out loud.  Then they got up and headed our direction.  One of us dove under a piano they had and the other two of us ran behind the stage drop to the other side of the stage.

The investigator and representative finding nothing, went back out front and sat down...but we were laughing so hard on the other side of the stage..I guess we sounded like we were growling...they thought there was something not so friendly near by.  See how evidence can get messed up?  We actually came clean and explained what was happening and all had a good laugh.  Time to get serious again.

Some of the Team went back up to the balcony to do an EVP session.  Once they got there they realized for some reason the seating area below appeared to be even smokier than during the initial walk through. Working with the representative we checked the theater and we could not attribute it to anything in the theater.  But they did tell us there was a fire that had impacted part of the theater in the not so recent past, so that gave us a great idea.

We downloaded a fire siren sound from the early 1900's on to our phones.  Part of the Team went back to the balcony while the rest of staged ourselves in different parts of the theater.  For 30 seconds we played the sirens while we all yelled FIRE!  Get out!  Come this way!  at the top of our lungs.  Then we stopped and everyone turned on a recorder for 30 seconds.  We got some things on our recorders, some not so clear.  However, what was really cool about the experience is those of us downstairs in front of the stage felt like people were rushing by us during those 30 seconds.  It was the weirdest feeling because we could see nothing.  However multiple investigators experienced this.  Has your Team ever tried re-enactments?  Have you had success?

This was the end of our investigation.  We have posted some of our unexplained pictures on our Facebook page or on Instagram...take a look...let us know what you think?   Until the S.P.I.R.I.T. Talks Again...............

Let's Talk....For The First Time

Hello!

Welcome to the first addition of the blog that will discuss the adventures of the S.P.I.R.I.T. Team.  What does that stand for?  Southern Paranormal Innovative Research and Investigative Team!!!

We are a group of like minded individuals that have come together to form an amazing Team.  We have the intent to venture into places that have never been investigated before but also to venture into places that others have been to see, feel, hear and capture evidence of things that happen in these locations.

If your interested in seeing some of the evidence we capture please check out our Facebook page - S.P.I.R.I.T or check us out on Instagram using the same search.  We use Instagram to put ideas and thoughts about the Paranomal process, evidence captured and ways of capturing evidence out there for everyone to comment on.

On our investigations we do a lot of documentation about the moon phase, the weather, the location, the reports and then we add to it our equipment used and the events that happen.  However, with this blog we would like to tell you about the ADVENTURE.  Where everything is subjective...to the receiver and to the people who participated in it.  It's not meant to put FACTS out there, it is meant for pure interest and enjoyment of the reader.  It will be a documentation of what occured, but it will contain things like...the room got really cold, or we heard a loud bang (even if it happend when we didn't have that recorder running - you know what I am talking about!).

It will contain the feelings, the FUN of the investigations, the LAUGHS and again the adventure!  But what it will also contain is ideas of things we have tried..what we have had success with and what we are still thinking about trying.

After all NO ONE owns the paranormal and NO ONE knows 100% for sure fact of anything.  But we are all on the road of trying to document things that occur to come up with theories like so many before us.  But the journey is really part of it is it not?

So each time we do an investigation I look to post a blog..I welcome your feedback, but please be constructive.  There is already enough negativity in the world.    Until the SPIRIT Talks again.......
